Who Can File A Complaint

A complaint may be filed by the following

1. A consumer
2. Any voluntary consumer association registered under the Companies Act 1956
3. The Central Government or any State Government
4. One or more consumers where there are numerous consumers.

How To File A Complaint

A complaint should contain the following:

1. An allegation in writing made by the complainant.
2. The name description and address of the opposite party
3. The name description and address of the complainant.
4. Documents in support of the allegation :
5. Copy of the invoice
6. Copy of the receipt
7. Copy of the warranty card
8. Copy of the complaint in writing if any an all other correspondences
9. The relief (compensation) asked for by the Complainant
10. The complaint should be signed by the complainant or by his authorized agent.
11. No Court fee required
12. Complaint can be presented before the Consumer Redressal Forum by the complainant/authorized agent in person.
13. A complaint can be sent by registered post to be filed before the Consumer Redressal Forum.

Number Of Copies To Be Filed

District Forum: 4 + a copy for the opposite party/parties

State Commission: 4 + a copy for the opposite party/parties

National Commission: 6+ a copy each for the opposite party
